Last week, the Russian missile cruiser Moskva sank in the Black Sea. The Russian Defense Ministry has not yet reported anything about the size of the cruiser's crew, as well as about possible casualties or injuries. However, evidence that there were dead and missing as a result of the crash began to appear in the media and social networks.

On the evening of April 13, the head of the Odessa military administration Maxim Marchenko said that the Ukrainian military had attacked Moscow with Neptune anti-ship missiles. At the same time, Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said that a severe fire had occurred on the cruiser.

On the night of April 14, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that a fire had occurred on the Moskva, without specifying its causes, and also stated that ammunition had detonated as a result of the fire on the ship. In the evening of the same day, the department announced that the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet sank while being towed to the port "in conditions of stormy waves." The version of the Ukrainian authorities that the ship was subjected to rocket fire was not recognized by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the crew of the Moskva cruiser was evacuated after a fire broke out on it. How many people were on board, the department did not specify.

At the same time, the Marine Guard of the Ukrainian Border Service stated that the crew of the Moskva tried to evacuate ships that were nearby, but they were prevented by a storm.

At the same time, during the meeting, Evmenov made a statement, from which it follows that the cruiser's crew could include conscripts.

In correspondence with journalists, Vakhrusheva confirmed that her husband died as a result of the sinking of the Moskva cruiser. In addition, according to the woman, another 27 crew members of the ship were missing. According to Vakhrusheva, the command informed her about the death of her husband on April 14.

The midshipman who died was 41 years old, he was born in Udmurtia and served in combat unit number five, responsible for the operational safety of the Moskva, Vakhrusheva said.

On April 17, Dmitry Shkrebets, a resident of Yalta, reported the disappearance of his conscript son, who served on the sunken cruiser Moskva. According to the man, his son is Yegor Shkrebets was called up for service in July 2021 and after the course of a young soldier he entered the cruiser Moskva, where he served as a ship cook in the supply service.

According to the man, after trying to clarify the information about what happened on the Moskva cruiser, the ship's commander and his deputy stopped communicating.

Egor Shkrebets' mother Irina, in turn, told The Insider (announced by the media acting as a "foreign agent") that she and her husband went to the hospital in Rocky Bay, where, according to their information, they brought about 200 wounded sailors from the cruiser " Moscow", but their son was not there.

"We looked at every burnt child. I can't tell you how hard it is, but I didn't find mine. There were only two hundred people, and there were more than five hundred on the cruiser. Where are the others? They raised Krasnodar, and everything else, they called everyone but we can't find it," the woman said.

On Monday, Dmitry Shkrebets wrote another post in which he said that he was contacted by three families of conscript sailors from the annexed Crimea and St. Petersburg, who also served on the Moskva cruiser and disappeared after its crash.

The BBC managed to talk to the mother of one of the conscripts who turned to Shkrebets. Yulia Tsyvova from the village of Lenino in the Crimea told about the disappearance of her 19-year-old son Andrei Tsyvov , who had two and a half months before the end of his service.
