No doubt about it. 5w4 is an easy call, too.

I'm a 5w4, and an INTx (completely compatible with both but I go with J over the majority of test results). Huzzah!

NF extraverts have a more individualistic focus than other extraverts. I enjoyed the Ricky Gervais quote though
What about Maynard strikes you as introverted?

Thank you for bringing this up! (Love that guy)
I hope this doesn't come across as bias, but I've always gotten more of an INxJ vibe from Maynard. Enneatype Five definitely sounds reasonable though.

I used to think he was INTP, but now I think he's some sort of NF, not just because of lyrical material but because of values that seem to be represented in his work with tool and outside of Tool as well as his attitude about aspects of fame, music, and the music industry. The lyrics are just very Ni heavy..in my interpretation.. and this ironic use of Fe's observations.
Plus, here's some of his quotes that make me think so:
"Because as an only child, you have your own little world."
"Music is about listening, the more you play, the more the magic spreads."
"There were a lot of choices to make and I always picked artist. I never once picked doctor, lawyer, firemen or something like that. It was always artist."

None of us learns anything this way. Why should it be self evident that an intelligent analytical person has to be an introverted thinker?
I would posit that he is a feeler and a judger.

Dear lord, is it not excruciatingly obvious? Just an intuitive obvious to me.
1. He is very shy, held back and reserved in interviews.
2. He has that sharp, rude, blunt attitude exclusive to I.
3. He hates people and society
4. He has an imaginative and creative subconscious, which Es can also have, but they'll share that directly whereas Is tend to express themselves through more abstract forms like music.
5. He's very, very, very, very abstract.
6. He seems to have difficulty with his emotions, which is more common in Is.
7. He can be quite awkward and inexpressive when conversing verbally, but definitely not through his pen.
8. He isn't friendly, lol.
If you saw just one of his interviews you'd know instinctively.

Absolutely none of those are exclusive to Introverts. An extrovert could also have all of these traits. I agree that he is in fact an introvert though. Also, you can't type people merely on outward behavior. As for my guess, I'd say INTJ or INFP. Fi-Te is obvious. He seems more Ni than Ne.

Of course, but they are more commonly found in Is.
What do you base that decision on, then?
Outward behavior reveals a lot about inward behavior.

I think the trouble lies in the J/P. I'd definitely say he's a P.

Yes but I think the trouble lies with Ni and Ne. Maynard seems like a type who makes symbols and unified perspectives rather than connections and parallels in his information intake.
A perfect circle. are great, saw them live recently. Maynard and his mystical performances <3 . Oh yeah and that's another hit to INTJ, I think his Ni-dominance and Se-inferior just glares out at me.
Even on stage. There's always some independent but universal understanding that he wants others to know, but he can never know a way to say it, so he says it mystically.

So, I've been watching about three interviews with this guy and I'm seeing a lot of Ni and Ti.
Current ideas for his type are; INFJ, ISTP, (possibly INTP but I don't see much Ne, but a lot of Ti).
I'm inconclusive on his type thus far but I'm going to watch a few more interviews.

Been a hardcore fan of him for over 20 years, I'm on the fence between INTP and INFP

Oh my god, a lot of those are my favourite artists, I guess it makes sense now that we may have the same personality type, go figure. I've been huge fan of Tori Amos, and I love Kate Bush, Fiona Apple, PJ Harvey and Nina Simone. And I've also felt a kinship with a lot of the others. Oh, I see now that I accidentally voted Taylor Swift instead of Tori Amos, I meant Tori though!

I voted for Roger Waters, but I also like Jack White. I like Marilyn Manson too, but not especially for his music. I think he's an interesting person. I am surprised by Taylor Swift, I must say. I like some of her music (mostly from Speak Now) but she can be a little too much for me sometimes. I would've guessed ENFP or INFP.
Looked at the overall list, and my pick must be for George Harrison.

I don't know whether everybody on that list is INFJ (according to the CognitiveTypes channel on YouTube Alanis Morisette is an INTP, and seriously... Taylor Swift???).
Well, anyway. I like Imogen Heap, Tori Amos, Lisa Gerrard.
And one who's not on the list: Vienna Teng.

I really like Roger Waters' work with Pink Floyd, however I would definitely vote for Morrissey overall. i didn't even know he was an INFJ, I heard form another source he was an INFP, but I'll take either one.

Kristy Thirsk.
No contest. http://grooveshark.com/#!/search?q=kristy+thirsk
Even though Kristy never spells her fellow Canadian musician Sarah McLachlan's name right. *points to the list* Evidently, more than just a few people lack this ability. I can see you also misspelled the name of Alanis Morissette. What's a female, Canadian rock star to do, these days, to get some respect from the masses after 2 decades of selling great albums?
Just in case I'm wrong about the "INFJ"ness of Kristy Thirsk, I'll also mention Akino Arai.

I like several of the people on the list but voted for Roger Waters because Pink Floyd is one of my 3 favorite bands of all time (the other two being The Beatles and Led Zeppelin) what can I say I'm a classic rock nerd ha ha.

Historical
The original name of the project was Umlaut (the name of the German umlaut).
The name Puscifer was first used in an episode of the American TV series Mr. Show which featured Maynard James Keenan and Adam Jones (guitarist for Tool). Puscifer was then called an imaginary rock band. Adam Jones is not officially affiliated with Puscifer. His only involvement is in the design of the "Your Mom is a Bitch" T-shirt, which is sold on Puscifer's official website. nine0003
The first true Puscifer tracks ( Rev 10:20 pm and The Undertaker ) appeared on the soundtracks for Underworld and saw films in 2003 and 2005. At the time, the project was just a musical collaboration between Danny Lohner and, Which especially remixes the title Bring Me The Disco King by David Bowie.
Gradually the project developed, the number of sites increased, and in 2007 Keenan officially announced the release of the Puscifer album at the end of the year. nine0003
For Keenan himself, Puscifer is as much a band as a clothing line. He describes the project as "a playground for different voices in his head", a "virgin place with no specific purpose" and where his "personality, his ego and his spirit come together to trade cookie recipes".
In releases 1- and album Puscifer: "V" Is for Vagina , a mixture of electro-rock and gospel shamanistic influences. In one week, the album climbed to number one on Billboard in the independent artists category. nine0003
