Genius disease. A simple test will show if you have Asperger's Syndrome | Psychology of life | Health

22-year-old daughter Lolita Milyavskaya and Alexander Tsekalo suffers from Asperger's Syndrome. It is considered the mildest variant of autism. The list of celebrities with Asperger's is impressive - Albert Einstein , Charles Darwin , Nikola Tesla , Steven Spielberg , Bill Gates , Woody Allen , Keanows 7 1027 Lionel Messi , Elon Musk .

Check if you have this star disorder?

Asperger's syndrome is the mildest and most common form of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which is characterized by difficulties in social communication, perception of the world around, and stereotypical, repetitive interests and activities.

The disorder is congenital, and its first symptoms are detected at an early age. At the same time, it is rarely diagnosed, since in childhood isolation and unwillingness to communicate with peers are often explained by character traits, and in adults - intolerable character and clumsiness. The main problems in communication with Asperger's syndrome are not shyness or isolation, but difficulties with an intuitive and quick understanding of other people's emotions, states, unwritten rules of behavior in social situations.

Although there is no cure for Asperger's Syndrome, it's best to be aware of your own (or your loved one's) characteristics. This will help you perceive yourself correctly or respond to certain actions.

The test for Asperger's Syndrome was developed by psychologist Simon Baron-Kogan and colleagues at the Cambridge Autism Center. It consists of 50 questions, for each of which there are four possible answers - strongly agree (3 points), rather agree (2 points), rather disagree (1 point) and completely disagree (0 points). The higher the score, the more pronounced the signs of autism. If you scored more than 26 points, this is a reason to tune in. If the result is over 32 points, you should consult a doctor.

Can these tests be trusted?

“Tests are indeed widespread in both psychology and psychotherapy. But they serve as an auxiliary tool, the results of which make it possible to suspect, but not diagnose, a disease or disorder, - a psychotherapist, head of the Vozrozhdeniye treatment and rehabilitation center Yuri Vyalba told aif.ru . — Diagnosis is made clinically. In children, several specialists can participate in the diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome at once: not only a psychiatrist, but also a psychologist, pediatrician, teacher, speech therapist.
