How long do friends with benefits usually last

How to Make Your Friends with Benefits Situation Last

A healthy “friends with benefits” situation is the white whale of sex and dating. Typically, one or both parties catch feelings and then the whole thing falls apart. But it doesn’t have to be like that! It’s a tricky—but possible—balance. My most successful FWB, a cinematographer I used to live near whom I hooked up with off-and-on for about two years, summed it up best in a text: “Basically the ideal FWB relationship is one where people need to fuck, live close to each other, enjoy smoking weed together and have a genuine interest in the happenings of the other person but are still too wrapped up in themselves to worry about the other person. LOL.”

LOL, indeed.

Before getting into the nitty-gritty of what makes a FWB work, you should have a screening process for the kind of person you want to rope in. Try to pick a person whom you’re attracted to but don’t share a billion mutual friends with—Tinder has made hooking up with people in your friend group inexcusable. Then look deep inside yourself and make sure you don’t expect or want this situationship to bloom into a relationship on any level. Lightheartedness is crucial. Next, do a little introspection about what you want or need from this arrangement. Ask your pound pal to do the same, then discuss. Making sure you’re on the same, casual page from the jump is critical.

Even after you’re both clear on the boundaries of your fledgling situationship, there are still more rules: Just as in a relationship you have to actively maintain intimacy, in a FWB-ship you have to keep working to maintain boundaries. An exclusive sexual relationship that starts to involve emotional validation and hardlined expectations is kind of like an unpaid internship—and no one’s got time for that.

Condoms, always. But not for that reason.

Even if neither of you is sleeping with other people, and even if you’ve both been honest about the last time you were tested and the results of said test, going rubber-free still feels especially relationship-y. In an FWB scenario, skipping the jimmy hat says, “We care about each other as more than friends.” You’re in dangerous waters.

No plus-1s.

Having a hot person handy for company parties and various happy hours is hella tempting, but resist. Introducing this person—as cool as they may actually be—to various other folks in your regular orbit crosses a line. Not that you can’t take your FWB pal out in public, but non-bedroom hangs should be limited to the occasional breakfast date. Otherwise, you’re dating.

Curb day-to-day communication.

Get good news? Text your best dude or dad or therapist or dog walker. Grievances? Take it to Twitter. You can’t rely on your bang bud for emotional validation—even if they have given you that in the sexless friends realm in the past. There’s fucking involved here, so draw a boundary.

Ban sexless sleepovers.

You wouldn’t hire someone to clean your gutters and then instead have them fix your printer. Thus, don’t let FWBs venture into new territory by staying over without some banging (or even just heavy petting). That breeds a different kind of intimacy, which breeds new expectations.

Sick? See ya.

Seriously, don’t do sex with people with colds. It may feel kind and right to bring along soup or something, but you simply cannot. Any kindness you do for your sex friend when they’re ill will be perceived as a signal that you want something more, so plug up the geyser of empathy within and stick to a quick “Feel better soon!” text. Similarly, if you’re the sick one, you’re not allowed to request kombucha delivery or dog-walking services from your FWB. Sorry. That’s what Instacart and Rover are for.

Set a time limit—and stick to it.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? WRONG. FWBs traditionally work good as hell until they hit a wall, and you’ll want to nip it in the bud before that. The key is to end things before they stop being fun, which can be especially tough to gauge when you're getting, like, orgasms. A good rule of thumb is five weeks—just long enough to really master one another's G-spots but not so long you start to internalize their roommate’s work schedule.

Then, for both your sakes: GET OUT OF THERE.

How Long Can A Friends With Benefits Relationship Last?

Friends with Benefits (FWB) is a type of romantic relationship that is casual, non-exclusive, and lacks emotional ties.

It’s similar to a friends-with-benefits situation where both parties are interested in each other but not as lovers or boyfriend/girlfriend.

This type of relationship doesn’t imply that you don’t have feelings for each other. Instead, it means that you only care about each other as potential physical relationship partners without any strings attached.

It doesn’t mean that both people will never fall in love; it just means that they won’t do so during their time together.

Either you plan to get into a FWBR or already part of it, It’s obvious to have many doubts and questions regarding how long can a friends with benefits relationship last and what precautions you should take to make it work?

So, Let’s get straight to the point:

How long does friends with benefits last? In the year 2020, A longitudinal study of friends with benefits on 191 people conducted two online surveys that were one year apart.

They found that only 15% of people are able to change from being FWBs to being in real relationships.

About 70% of the participants were women, 74% white, and 72% heteros#xual. About half of them were 30 years old and under. Participants knew their benefits-eligible friends for about three years, on average, before the study.

After two surveys within the gap of 2 years, it was discovered that 25% of people kept friendships with benefits, 15 percent were romantically interested in one another, 28% got rid of their benefits and kept being friends, and 31% cut all ties.

Communication was more important for those who went on to develop a true romantic relationship than those who did not, as the ones who did not communicate didn’t last as a relationship.

Interestingly, the study shows some relationships lasted longer than others. Most of the people who returned to just being friends were successful, with 60 percent saying they were just friends after the first encounter.

However, 40 percent of the couples still remained friends with benefits after going out a second time.

Another study published in the Canadian journal of human s#xuality regarding friends with benefits relationship among Canadian undergraduates of 146 men and 135 women; ages 18-40.

During the research, the participants described their experiences with “friends with benefits” relationships (FWBRs).

They discovered that 38% of them experienced positive friends with benefits relationships, 37% neutral FWBR experiences, yet 40% of the participants reported that they would not enter an FWBR again.

Women and men equally experienced emotional complications throughout the relationship, which predicted severe negative outcomes in 22% of cases.

A significantly greater proportion of men than women entered the relationship hoping for it to turn into a dating relationship and expressed a desire to avoid an FWBR in the future.

Based on the results, gender differences in FWBRs are nuanced and confirm and depart from traditional gender roles.

On average, only 14% of FWB relationships lasted past four months; 32% happened between four and six months; 24%, between six and eight months; 17%, between eight and ten months; 7%, for ten to twelve months; 6%, from twelve to twenty-four months.

This is surprising because most assume that once a friend has s#x with someone, they will no longer be able to be friends; however, this is disproved by research.

Friends with benefits is an ongoing thing rather than something fleeting, which many people view it as. It isn’t as easy to transition from FWB into a real relationship; however, there are ways to do so successfully.

The findings showed that s#xual exclusivity was less likely among women; compared to men, FWB relationships tended to occur between relatively older individuals (above 24), homos#xual or bis#xual men were unlikely partners for FWBs.

That said, emotional intimacy may lead more quickly towards commitment in same-s#x relations. Having feelings towards your partner can positively affect how you see them s#xually.

Relationships between FWBs may not last forever; however, sometimes their end is not a matter of time.

Also read: How to be friends with benefits relationship?

You and your “friend” might have a few weeks or months of friendship with benefits left – but what matters most is how comfortable you are and the chemistry between you are your FWB. If you start to feel something isn’t right, maybe it’s time to end the friendship.

So, in conclusion, how long can a friends with benefits relationship last? The answer is, Just like any other type of relationship, there’s no one perfect amount of time for a FWB situation.

Some are long-term and others are more casual or just physical in nature; it all depends on how comfortable you and your partner feel after both have been in similar situations before.

Friends with benefits relationships tend to be a lot more casual and less involved than other types of relationships. That means that they’re also more likely to fizzle out and end.

Also read: Does friends with benefits actually work?

How long a FWB lasts is dependent on many different factors, including how much time you both put into it, your own expectations, and what kind of commitment either of you want out of it.

And in some cases, once one or both parties have started looking for something more (and are willing to compromise their standards), a friends-with-benefits relationship may not last at all.

spoke about life in Brazil

A little over a year ago, my husband and I moved to Brazil.

My husband Nikolai and I live in the city of Vila Velha, which means “old village” in translation: the city was founded in 1535. Literally a five-minute drive away is the city of Vitoria, the capital of the state of Espirito Santo. These cities are connected by a bridge 3300 meters long.

Vila Velha

My husband and I came to Vila Velha for the first time in 2017 for the winter, before that we went to Vietnam for the winter for six months. We were invited to visit by a Brazilian family, whom my husband Nikolai met at an English language course in Canada ten years ago.

Vila Velha, in my opinion, like Sochi for Russia, is a resort city for Brazilians. Although it is not entirely true to say this, because the coast of Brazil is 7491 km, and there are a lot of places for recreation, chic beaches and resort areas.

A feature of our city and surrounding areas, it seems to me, is a beach holiday combined with cultural. There are many cathedrals, monasteries and ancient buildings. There is also a stunning landscape: mountains, parks, haciendas, plantations. Excellent opportunities for outdoor activities: kayaking, rock climbing, cycling, fishing, zip-lines, paddleboards, paragliding, helicopter and private jet flights.

Vila Velha is a calm and unhurried city, sometimes even boring, but at the same time inexpensive. As for peace and crime, it all depends on the area. We prefer areas near the coastline, where there are quite wealthy people and which are supervised by the police, but you have to pay extra for this.

Nightlife is more developed in the nearby city of Vitoria, with many bars, restaurants and clubs. There are also many of them in Vila Velha, but usually on Friday everyone takes a taxi to Vitoria: as I said, the journey takes no more than 5-10 minutes. But on Saturdays people come to swim and sunbathe in Vila Velho.

Relocation

Few people know, but in Brazil for Russian citizens there is a visa-free regime for 90 days if you come as a tourist. In addition, it can be extended at the Federal Police for another 90 days with a small surcharge. But after the expiration of this period, you must officially leave the country for 180 days.

Brazil is one of the few countries that grants citizenship by birth and does not mind if a Brazilian has two citizenships. That's why we decided to come here for a long time. The plans were, after 180 days of stay, to enroll in Portuguese language courses, get a student visa for a year, get pregnant and give birth to a child, then apply for citizenship for him, and my husband and I would receive a residence permit for nine years.

But the corona crisis ruined all our plans!

We extended our stay for another 90 days and at the end of December 2019 we started collecting documents for a student visa. I recommend that you find out in advance the entire list of necessary things and draw up documents in your native land. We had to look for friends who were flying from Russia to Brazil and ask them to bring us documents, since sending them by mail, in my opinion, is unreliable.

Over time, our plan has been adjusted. To officially stay in Brazil until March 31, 2021, you need to collect the relevant documents: for example, for a student visa, applying for a residence permit, and others. You may have to fly to Russia for some time in order to collect and arrange everything faster. But then we will still return to Brazil for our original goal - having a child and obtaining a residence permit. Now we are planning to get an analogue of a medical policy that allows you to seek help in city clinics and hospitals for free.

After the quarantine was announced and the borders were closed, tourism issues were frozen until the end of 2020. Our stay at the official level was extended until the date of cancellation of the order, after which we could legally stay in Brazil for a month. Since we did not plan to leave here, this situation played into our hands. And we are very happy, because we waited out quarantine in excellent weather conditions, with the ocean at our side, fresh fruits and vegetables.

But even if it is illegal to be in Brazil, it only threatens with a fine the next time you enter the country. No one will deport you, look for you, in principle, too. Therefore, the decision is for everyone.

Now, judging by the correspondence in the group of Russian speakers in Brazil, tourism issues are very confused. No one gives specific answers, even the official body - the Federal Police - makes different decisions in different states, since everyone interprets the law in their own way. Some tourists leave the country simply with fines that must be paid the next time they enter Brazil, and some do not get any fines at all. Someone is given terms of several months to leave the country - and sometimes just in words.

If we talk about the financial side of the issue with documents specifically in our case, then today we spent:

  • on the documents themselves - 8020 R;
  • to extend the period of stay in the country - 110.44 BRL⁣ (1542 R) for each;
  • for an apostille of a birth certificate - 2500 R for each.

Of course, we must take into account the exchange rate: ruble - dollar - real, since the two currencies are unstable in relation to the third. If you collect documents for a student visa, then the amount will obviously increase, plus the payment for the courses themselves, plus a trip to the consulate in Rio de Janeiro.

In Brazil, we also received a CPF number - this is an analogue of our TIN - in order to register with the tax authority. Here, without it, you can’t even register with Uber, and in all stores they always ask for it. You can get this number for free, but since we are in a city where there are few foreigners, at first we were told that the local organization does not make such numbers. I had to call the manager, who asked for an official translation of the passport, although it is not needed if it is a foreign passport and it has a transcript of the name in English. The last snag was that in Brazil they always indicate the name of the mother, just as we have the patronymic. But they took our word for it, we just wrote down the names of the mothers on a piece of paper.

Unfortunately, it is hard to fight the bureaucracy in Brazil, just like in Russia, but here at least everyone smiles at you :)

Work

My husband Nikolay and I are from the small town of Lipetsk. I have been working as a make-up artist for 9 years already, I have a higher economic education and 11 years of experience in this specialty. Husband is a professional photographer. When he was 19 years old, he left for America, where he began his professional career, then worked in Russia. After that, he left for Canada, where he graduated from Sheridan College in Toronto with a degree in photography, received a diploma and at the same time actively worked in the wedding industry. Arriving once again in Russia and having a good camera and equipment on hand, my husband also took up interior photography.

Here we planned to do the same - make-up and photography, as this is a promising occupation. On average, makeup can cost 150-200 BRL⁣ (2102-2802.6667 R). And on the wedding day, ten people will have to put on make-up, because all the girls aged 15 to 80 years do makeup and hair for the wedding. A professional photographer can earn 1200 BRL⁣ (16,816 R) per hour, but of course, these are the most sought-after shots.

/wedding-photo/

How much does a wedding photographer earn

In Brazil, more senior professionals are valued because of their experience. And if we talk about age, then weddings are usually played here around 35 years old. And many specialists like designers, architects, realtors at the age of 40-45 are at the peak of their careers, which is why they prefer to work with professionals.

Unfortunately, the quarantine spoiled our plans even here. We lost a few months due to the corona crisis, as many people here were quarantined and reluctant to meet. Brazilians have very close family relationships, many adult relatives are at risk, so everyone approached the issue of self-isolation very responsibly. So it was not possible to immediately join the industry.

After a while, many began to make contact, and we began to work more actively - of course, without official documents yet. Now our sphere works mainly only in the low price segment. Wealthy people are still wary of holding large wedding events, graduations and other holidays, so there are many canceled dates. But we are looking for new sources of income, in addition, the pandemic helped to deepen our knowledge in investments.

/selected/job-abroad/

Work and side work abroad

Ignorance of the language is also an obstacle in work, but many people in our city of Vila Velha, to my surprise, speak English very well. We learn Portuguese, but very slowly, because for now we manage with the most “everyday” words. At the same time, I am looking for a remote job, part-time work. Now we live on savings. And this is very upsetting, because we collected a financial cushion for a long time.

Housing and utilities

We rent an apartment in Praia da Costa. In Vila Velha, this area is considered one of the most expensive, beautiful and safe.

But there are a number of difficulties with renting. When looking for new apartments, we use the Airbnb website or ask local friends. In Brazil, it is customary to rent an apartment for a long time - from a year, while official contracts are concluded in agencies. But for this you need to have certain documents, and a foreign tourist does not have such. Therefore, we are forced to pay a little more when using this site.

Specifically, for our family, the cost item for renting housing is the very first and most expensive. We prefer clean, comfortable apartments in a safe area near the ocean - we are ready to save on many things, but not on this, that's why we overpay.

View from the apartment we rented on Airbnb

The cost of renting under a contract from a year in our area consists of several parameters.

Utilities. Actual electricity consumption. We had about 100—130 BRL⁣ (1401—1821.3 R) for two people without air conditioning. If you monitor electricity prices in coastal cities, you will realize that electricity is much more expensive here than in an ordinary Russian city.

Condo, or condominium. This is what it consists of:

  1. Fixed monthly payments for maintenance of the building, swimming pool, concierge services, elevator, cleaning.
  2. Proportional share for electricity and water used during the operation of the house.
  3. Payment for the actual consumption of gas and water by the apartment per month.

This amount may slightly change upwards if, for example, scheduled work is underway to clean, wash the building and balcony windows.

The size of a condo also depends on the building itself. If it does not have a swimming pool, a barbecue area on the roof, a sauna, public toilets, a gym, which is the norm for almost all apartment buildings, then, of course, the amount will be much less. For example, in one of these apartments with a rooftop pool, the size of the condo could reach 900 BRL⁣ (12,612 R) per month, and without all the privileges - 200 BRL⁣ (2803 R). But believe me, it is pleasant to give even such a huge amount for benefits, knowing that all this is available.

For the rent itself, you will have to pay from 2000 BRL⁣ (28,027 R) per month for a two- or three-room apartment with a balcony. In a great house, the area of such apartments starts from 80 m². The common area - the hall - is not considered a room by Brazilians. An apartment is considered comfortable for a family of three with a child, where there is a spacious hall, a separate or combined kitchen, a parents' room with a bathroom, a nursery, an office, a fairly large balcony, and a garage for two cars in the building. These apartments usually have 2-3 bathrooms.

There are more modest apartments in the same area, where, for example, there is no pool, but there is a barbecue area, a concierge, a cleaner and a covered garage. The cost of such housing can start from 1200 BRL⁣ (16 816 R). These are quite good apartments.

Praia da Costa is one of the most expensive areas in the city Swimming pool in a nice building in an expensive area of Vila Velha
Praia da Costa is one of the most expensive areas in the city Swimming pool in a nice building in an expensive area of Vila Velha

In the neighboring city of Vitoria, apartment prices are 10-20% lower, because, as I already wrote, Vila Velha has beautiful beaches. For comparison: an hour's bus ride from our area there are apartments, or rather rooms with a kitchen and a bathroom, in a not very favorable place for 500 BRL⁣ (7007 R).

Another peculiarity of Brazilian rental housing under contract: in most cases, apartments are rented out completely unfurnished. There are not even minimal amenities. Therefore, it is customary here to move with your things, from refrigerators to mattresses. For this, transportation companies are hired. In the apartment, everything has to be arranged from scratch, and after the expiration of the contract, cosmetic repairs have to be done. Therefore, they usually rent for 3-5 years with an extension of the contract. Moreover, many Brazilians have their own apartments, which they rent out, but live in rented apartments for a number of reasons.

We are currently renting an apartment through Airbnb for 2800 BRL⁣ (39238 R). This is the price in the off-season: since December, the cost of rent in our area has almost doubled and even more. But bargaining is always appropriate, since we do not rent by the day. Initially, for the apartment in which we now live, the hostess asked for 5400 BRL⁣ (75 674 R).

/airbnb/

How to rent an apartment on Airbnb

In addition to the price, the main criteria by which we choose apartments on Airbnb in our area are the cleanliness of housing, the presence of a refrigerator, a washing machine, a gas stove and a mattress, and an Internet connection. The rest is basically secondary.

How life works

Sport. Our way of life in Brazil is different from Russian. You wake up here much earlier, since the length of daylight hours is almost the same all year round. Sunrise at about five in the morning, sunset at six in the evening. The difference in daylight hours in winter and summer differs by an hour and a half.

Most Brazilians start their morning with an active sport: climb a mountain, kayak, run, swim in the ocean. This is all before work. In the evening - walks along the beach, cycling, beach volleyball or football, crossfit right on the beach. We try to adopt this habit.

On Mount Morro do Moreno View of Vila Velho
Morro do Moreno View of Vila Velho

Personal transport. Now my husband has a BMW motorcycle, which is convenient because there are traffic jams in the city. He bought it almost immediately upon arrival, so that there would be a means of transportation. The price is 18,000 BRL⁣ (252,247 R). A small used car will cost 25,000 BRL⁣ (350,342 R), plus insurance. Gasoline costs 4.5 BRL⁣ (63 R) per liter.

Products. Brazilians usually buy food for several weeks by driving to large supermarkets. We go for groceries almost daily to different stores - it's like a little trip! Dinner at home takes 20—30 BRL⁣ (280—420 R) a day: vegetables, chicken fillet, minced meat or pasta. On average, food, coffee, fruits, natural juices cost 1,500 BRL⁣ (21,021 R) per month. But these expenses are individual and depend on the family.

In a good restaurant, you can leave about 150 BRL⁣ (2102 R) for dinner. Of course, the quality of food here is on another level. Fresh vegetables and fruits all year round, beef of various cuts, fresh pastries on every corner. And on the beach for 10 BRL⁣ (140 R) you can buy two liters of coconut water or a liter of freshly squeezed orange juice!

Huge assortment of various locally produced coffees. Prices start from 70 R for 250 g

Internet. We pay 100 BRL⁣ (1401 R) per month, but this is a quality, good connection. You won't find lower prices. There are only two providers in our city. We did not buy SIM cards, we communicate with everyone through social networks, but on average the service will cost from 50 BRL⁣ (700 R) per month.

Medicine. Fortunately, we did not encounter this issue. But for all foreigners in Brazil, free medical care is available, and, according to the stories of local Russians, it is very worthy. Of course, there are also queues. In addition, there are a lot of good paid clinics that will serve anyone, but it will be expensive. You can give birth both in a free maternity hospital and in a private one.

Bank card. You can get a bank card only if you have a work or student visa or a residence permit, not for a tourist stay. An RNE document is required - an identity card for foreign citizens. We recently learned that purchases cannot be paid online with a regular debit card, this can only be done with a credit card. It is also not easy for a foreigner to get it, but it is possible if there is an official job. And when depositing funds to your debit account, you must confirm these receipts. The system is more like the American one, where everyone uses credit cards.

Entertainment. There are plenty of them. Now we are trying to get by free. These are, for example, sports, walks, small trips on a motorcycle, trips to visit new Brazilian friends.

Travel on motorcycles to the neighboring city of Domingos Martins, to the Pedra Azul park

Expenses

We need to understand that we moved to Brazil to live, which means that while there is no stable income, we prefer to save on everything. Although I want to travel around the neighborhood, other cities, eat at various restaurants. But this is not a vacation. Each such waste shortens our stay in a warm place.

Basic expenses per month — 4425—4730 BRL⁣ (62,011—66,285.2045 R)

Renting a house 2800—3000 BRL⁣ (39,238—42,040.7143 R)
Food 1500 BRL⁣ (21,021 R)
Petrol 100—200 BRL⁣ (1401—2802 R)
Shower and hygiene products 25—30 BRL⁣ (350—420 R)

Rental housing

2800—3000 BRL⁣ (39238 - 42 040. 7143 r)

Food

1500 BRL⁣ (21 021 r)

gasoline

100 - 200 BRL⁣ (1401 - 2802 r)

Prower and hygiene products

25—30 BRL⁣ (350—420 R)

We practically don't buy clothes, they're not really needed here. Basically, these are new T-shirts, shorts, slates. The last time they shopped about six months ago, they spent 300—500 BRL⁣ (4204—7006.6667 R). We bought things for the warm season.

After my arrival, I had to buy sunscreen frequently. We also bought sweatshirts with SPF protection, flip flops, swimwear and swimming shorts, but these are one-time expenses. Every self-respecting Brazilian girl has at least five swimsuits, by the way.

I would also like to note that in Brazil we do not have spending on alcohol: either it is already old, or it is expensive. Here we do not use. In Russia, this category of expenses was monthly - not to say that it was large, but it was. The prices here are a little more expensive than in Russia, but this is when comparing good alcohol. The cost of a bottle of wine starts from 30 BRL⁣ (420 R), but few people buy such wine. I compare prices in our area. I am sure that further from the coastline, where the working population lives, alcohol is more accessible.

/brazil/

How to organize a trip to Brazil

Another expense category that has gone away with the move is coffee to go. In Brazil, everyone drinks coffee at home, and it's delicious. Drinking it on the go is not accepted here. Approximately 3000 R per month was spent on coffee in Russia. And we don’t have to spend on warm clothes, winter shoes and car wash.

Advantages of living in Brazil

Climate. The main criterion for moving was warm weather. For the whole year, the temperature did not drop below +18 °C. The hottest period is from December to February, the temperature stays at +32…35 °C. Pretty comfortable.

We did not like wintering in Vietnam. And we like almost everything about Vila Velha: it's the perfect combination of resort and "normal" working life.

Food. She also delights me here: a variety of fruits, fresh vegetables all year round, incredibly tasty meat, coconut water, coffee, juices. A great combination of beach and sports life with a working area, there are many leisure options.

People. Friendly and smiling, helpful and helpful. Not all, but in the majority. Many people know English and speak it fluently.

Ocean. The ocean within walking distance is a special privilege! It's better than going to a psychologist. Looking at the ocean, you forget about all the problems. Of course, many will ask: “Where do you have problems there?” But they are. Try moving to another country first.

Family values. It sounds a little strange, but every Sunday there is a family dinner. And no one is forced, everyone is waiting for this day to meet with their families. Introducing new friends to parents is normal, no one will be shy or swear. Everyone goes together to cafes, to the beach and other places.

Relationship to age. If in Russia preference is given to younger and more active specialists, then in Brazil it is more experienced, but no less active. The age of 40-50 years and even above is not considered such an "older age" as in Russia. These are quite wealthy people at the peak of their careers, specialists with work experience who are highly valued and who know their own worth. Here people are very active, greedy for knowledge, they try to travel a lot, do interesting things.

Of course, all this is a matter of personal perception. Someone will see a lot of negativity around.

Disadvantages of living in Brazil

In this regard, Brazil and Russia, oddly enough, are a bit similar.

Bureaucracy. It's still hard to find out something, prove it, and take the right piece of paper. But in Brazil, as I said, they always smile back at you.

Economic instability. The Brazilian real, like the ruble, fluctuates against the dollar. There is a lot of inflation.

Political issues. Most Brazilians are almost always dissatisfied with the authorities. There are a lot of protests and strikes here - people openly express their opinion. This, of course, affects the normal operation of the system. For example, postal employees recently went on strike and all the parcels "stand up".

Slow service. In general, this is the norm for Brazilians, but it is very difficult for us. Service in cafes, supermarkets and shops is a whole story! But you need to understand that this is typical of almost all warm countries. Residents are in no hurry to go anywhere, talking in line or chatting with the cashier is an absolutely normal thing.

Crime. One of the important topics. In fact, you feel a certain sense of danger here. But this is more from ignorance. Walking at night in deserted alleys with an expensive phone and money, I think you won’t even in Russia. A number of unspoken rules and adequate caution. In Rio de Janeiro, in my opinion, it is more dangerous, but again, everything is more or less adequate. Just read the information about the districts, late hours, favelas and don't lose your vigilance. Better to be safe than not to be safe.

There is a desire to stay here forever. But I'm not sure this is the best option for my husband and I. Of course, I would like to buy an apartment here and stay for several years. But at the same time, we are interested in traveling. Unfortunately, even if you earn good money in reais, it is difficult to leave the country. If you find earnings in dollars or another more stable currency, it’s already much better. Again, I compare it with life in Russia: having rubles in hand, an ordinary person needs to save up for a trip.

Another disadvantage is the maintenance of the apartment: if it is not rented out for travel, then it is not cheap. Raising a child in Brazil is very expensive: it is worth considering the costs of private schools, kindergartens, clubs, and so on. We would like to have a residence permit in Brazil or a passport in order to visit this resort without any tension for a long time. But staying here to live forever is a completely different story.

Help | Carsharing Citydrive

These are car parks that are not easy to get to, for example, in shopping centers, office blocks or airports. We have agreed with the owners of these parking lots, so you can come there by Citydrive cars, end the lease or transfer it to the "Parking" tariff option.

Open the car map in the Citydrive app, click on the "Filter" button and select "Highlighted Parking Lots". If you click on the blue parking mark, a window with details will open.
