Whether making a positive impact on investors’ lives or helping students and professionals start a rewarding career, Vanguard has allowed me to focus on the things I value.

From the moment I shook hands with my recruiter, I felt a sense of meaning behind Vanguard’s mission—to take a stand for all investors, to treat them fairly, and to give them the best chance for investment success. Finding a company with a strong purpose was important to me. Before Vanguard, I had the opportunity to volunteer as a service missionary for two years in Chile, where because of our strong core purpose and values, we were able to truly make a difference. At Vanguard, my position in our Retail Investor Group provides an opportunity where I see that purpose come to life in my daily interactions with clients. I find it very satisfying to apply the skills from my college days and accounting background as I explain complex topics related to investing.

What is his role in the successful development of the business? – Delivery service TopDelivery

What helps a successful business create a positive customer experience today? For companies that want to improve retention and loyalty, building an effective customer success team is essential. The key link here is the account manager, who will think through various strategies for developing relationships with clients.

Account manager (aka Account Manager) is an employee who is primarily responsible for communicating and presenting business services to customers. We at TopDelivery believe that the account manager is the voice of the client in the company: he defends the interests of the client, accompanies and controls all stages of the goods delivery process, solves all emerging problems and helps to close all needs.

In this article, we want to analyze in detail what an account manager does and what is the importance of his work in the activities of any company.

Main duties of an account manager

Of course, the tasks of a specialist may differ in different areas of business. But in general, the account manager acts as a link through which all important information and communication with the client passes. Understanding the needs and requests, he proposes a solution in the form of products or services, and is also responsible for establishing a strong and long-term relationship between the company and the client.

List of tasks that an account manager can perform:

    • Advising clients on all issues related to the company's services.
    • Coordination of the production process: finding out the needs of the client, developing a work plan and coordinating it with the management, assigning tasks, checking the timing and quality of implementation.
    • Participation in negotiations with the client and internal meetings of the company regarding the progress and development of the project.
    • Document management (acts, contracts, reports).
    • Analysis of the work done to obtain feedback from the client.
    • Dispute Resolution and Conflict Prevention/

What should an account manager be able to do?

We list the most important things, in our opinion, that a specialist should be able to do in order to effectively perform work and achieve the goals of the company:

    • Strong communication skills: working with clients is, first of all, communication with them. A good account manager knows how to properly build interaction with a client, create an atmosphere of trust in communication. If the client trusts the manager with whom he constantly interacts, then he will be more loyal to the company as a whole. But in addition to communicating with the client, it is also important for an account manager to be able to maintain constant and transparent communication channels within the company to regulate the overall work process.
    • Understanding of processes and specifics: the account manager in the eyes of the client is the main representative of the company and must be competent in all aspects of the activity in order to be ready to provide complete information on all issues. A strong specialist needs to understand the industry as a whole, as well as know industry competitors and their methods of work.
    • Multitasking: an account manager must be able to work in a large flow of tasks of several clients at the same time, while finding an individual approach to each of them. With a variety of work tasks, he also needs to be able to quickly “switch” and maintain high attention to detail.

The importance of an account manager within the company's activities

An account manager, understanding the needs of his clients, helps to choose individual solutions for them in the form of products or services to achieve their goals. Overall, he is a key sales force, building long-term relationships as a trusted advisor to the client. Satisfied loyal customers buy more or use the company's services more often, and can also recommend to their environment, which can reduce the operating costs of finding and attracting potential customers.

Submitting your CV is an important step in which we get to know you first. It is necessary in order to better understand how to prepare for a face-to-face meeting or phone call and conduct them as productively as possible. Send your resume through the website or by email: then we will see it 100% and carefully save it in the database (it will not be blown out the window by the wind, it will not be lost among other documents). And if our cooperation does not work out now, we will save the history of communication and will be able to return to your resume in the future.

Write about your education, work experience, tasks you performed, and your life goals, interests and hobbies. It's great if you describe in more detail the implemented projects - professional or academic, technologies, practices, skills that will be useful to you in your future work. Also indicate your salary expectations and contacts for feedback: mail, phone.

Send DOC, TXT, RTF, PDF, RAR or ZIP files no larger than 2.9 MB. If the job involves a portfolio, add a link to the materials. Another option is to send a link if you have a ready-made resume on a job site (hh.ru, rabota.ru or another).

We will respond within 3 business days. Wait for a letter from us, it will contain information on the terms of consideration of resumes, feedback options and contacts of your HR manager. If you have not received a response email within 3 business days, please check your Spam folder in your mailbox. If the letter could not be found, write to [email protected] indicating the vacancy you applied for, or contact your HR manager by phone at 8 800 500-15-85.

You can find out who your hr-manager is on the vacancy page, there is a block of information at the top right, where the name of the employee of the personnel department and contacts are indicated: mail, phone.

As a rule, resumes are reviewed within 7 business days. If there are special conditions for consideration for a vacancy or work on it is temporarily suspended (for example, due to the manager’s vacation), we will definitely inform you in a response letter.

When we receive your resume, we make sure to send an acknowledgment of receipt within 3 business days, usually faster.

If your application is approved, we will call or write to you to arrange a meeting or offer you a test task.

If we have not contacted after the time has expired, it means that we are not yet ready to continue communication on this vacancy. Your resume will be saved in the database, and if suitable vacancies appear, we will consider your candidacy. In any case, let's stay in touch: subscribe to new vacancies on the site, join our VK group, subscribe to the Zen blog.

We are attentive not only to working employees, but also to potential ones, therefore we have several stages of selection, no matter what vacancy you apply for.

    1. Acquaintance with the HR manager - the first meeting, we will clarify the information that you provided in your resume, learn about your professional plans and interests, and answer your questions. This communication can take place in our office or by phone/skype (if, for example, you are in another city).
    2. Test task is a mini-simulation of future working situations. Its implementation will help assess your professional level, and it will be useful for you to understand the specifics of future work. We do not use test results in any way except to communicate with you. Sometimes the test task is the first stage.
    3. Upon successful completion of the first two stages, we will invite you to a meeting with potential colleagues and a manager.

This is a general scheme, there are also additional stages, for example, a technical interview, where the conversation will go only on professional topics, you may also be asked to solve a problem here and not even one.

At the meeting, we will ask you about your professional knowledge, skills, work preferences and motivation. It is also important for us to understand why you are interested in the vacancy you are applying for. Familiarize yourself with the tasks and think about why you would like to do this. Be sure to read additional information about our company, its products and services. We appreciate it when an applicant consciously enters our business.

At the interview, we may ask you to confirm information from your resume related to your professional skills. Depending on the position you are applying for, we may ask you to write a piece of code, create an algorithm, draw a variant of the interface, evaluate the project promotion strategy, suggest distribution channels, etc. In response, we will definitely give you full information about the vacancy, company, department in which the vacancy is open.

When we offer you to complete a test task, we want to evaluate your professional skills and knowledge, see how you think, and understand how your vision of the task matches our idea. The solutions sent by you are by no means a collection of ideas - we respect your work. We do not use test results in any way except to communicate with you.

If you have been interviewed by an HR manager or supervisor, we will notify you of the decision anyway. Most often, we respond in writing within 7 business days. But the answer may be delayed if we are waiting for a meeting with other candidates and without this we cannot make a decision on your candidacy. After the meeting, you will have personal contacts of your HR manager - write and specify in what period the exact answer will be known. Or call 8 800 500-15-85.

There are no special rules. If one vacancy is rejected, you can apply for another if you better meet its requirements. And yet, the most successful re-interview stories are when the candidate gained additional work experience in another company, became professionally stronger and then returned to us for an interview.

We are looking for not only experienced professionals, but also those who want to get interesting experience during their studies or immediately after graduation. For IT students, we offer many options for work and development, everything can be viewed on the tab for IT students.

You can start a career without IT skills by working as a customer service management consultant. We accept students from the last courses and train them in the knowledge of our products and the ability to communicate with customers. For the first month, you actively study under the strict guidance of mentors, and then gradually go to the phone or online counseling.

If you have serious plans for income, look at vacancies in the direction of sales. There are almost always options for beginners with no experience with minimum requirements for candidates at the start.

We also accept children for industrial and undergraduate practice with the prospect of employment. Full information about this can be found on the website page, there is also an application form.

On the page of each vacancy there is a block of information at the top right, where the name of the employee of the personnel department and contacts are indicated: mail, phone. If the recruiter who communicates with you about the vacancy goes on vacation, he will definitely warn you and give you the contacts of a colleague who can be contacted if necessary.

Most of the vacancies of SKB Kontur are work in the company's office. We highly value teamwork and common context, so we take a balanced approach to creating distributed teams. If remote positions appear, then we focus on this in the text of the vacancy.

We help IT professionals with a high level of qualification and extensive experience with relocation. You can discuss the possibility of participating in the relocation program with the recruiter who deals with the vacancy. For such candidates, we compensate for the cost of travel and accommodation in the first months of work. The decision is made individually in each case. Read more on the Moving Programs page.

If the salary for your position is not specified in the vacancy text, then we are considering the expectations of candidates. We have a very flexible remuneration system, and we always find an option that matches the experience and expectations of the candidate and the level of complexity of work tasks. Submit your CV indicating your current and desired salary level, and the HR manager will discuss with you a possible income based on your experience.

We have 40 project teams, 30 web services and four sales centers in Yekaterinburg alone. New projects are opened every year, tasks multiply, experienced employees grow, and the need for new ones does not go away. There is a waiting list for many vacancies. For example, developers are required in all teams. When we have found a developer for one team, he is already required for another. Therefore, some vacancies are never filled. We are growing fast :) To find one employee, we spend from 1.5 to 4 months, communicate and search until we find "the one". It's not just about experience, we pay a lot of attention to motivation and similarity of goals, characters, ambitions.
