Change the topic of the chat on Instagram + 5 secret chips

Let me explain right away that the topic of the chat is not the main idea of the dialogue. This is the ability to change the background in the chat. This has long been in instant messengers and just in SMS correspondence. Now the topic can also be selected in the direct, and how to change the topic of the chat in messages, and what other features appeared in the Instagram dialogs, I will tell in the article.

How to install the theme

Before we start to understand this and other new features of Direct, update the Instagram application. Since the "chat topic" function may simply not work for you due to the old version. Installation takes place in just a few clicks.

Step 1: Enter the dialog where you want to change the subject. In the upper right corner, click on the "i" icon, then "Theme".

Change Chat Theme

Step 2: Choose your favorite instagram chat theme and return to the dialog. A notification about which topic you set will be displayed at the end of the conversation.

Choosing and setting a theme

Below, after the chat theme options, you can customize the colors and gradients of the messages you send. But keep in mind that you cannot select both a theme and a gradient at the same time.

Other new features of Direct

In addition to the chat theme, Direct has other convenient and visually unusual things for communication.

2. Stickers and GIFs

You can send stickers and gifs in direct. The principle is the same, type the text, click on the magnifying glass. Next, you can choose a gif or a sticker from those offered, or you can find it through the search on the desired topic.

Stickers and GIFs

Interesting. You can quickly and safely promote your social network by boosting likes, reposts and views on publications. This is an inexpensive and safe way that will not make you wait long for the result. And most importantly, you will be able to increase coverage and get a hot target audience. Click and use -> TapLike

3. Reply to a specific message

Now, if you have received several messages in a row, you can send a separate reply to each. And if you have a group chat - answer a specific user. You can drag the desired message to the right and a reply window will appear.

Another way is to respond quickly. Just long press on a message and select an emoji. If you need other emojis, click on +.

Essentials in a nutshell

It is extremely easy to use updates in the direct on Instagram, in particular the topic of the chat. But questions can still arise, so in the end I answered the most frequent ones.

1. What if I don't have the update?

You can update the application in any market. If there is no update there, check if you have updated Android or IOS to the latest version.

2. Can I put different topics in different chats?

You can enable a new topic through any chat. And yes, in different chats you can customize the topics you like, or return the old ones.

3. Why don't I have all the new features?

This is not the first time that Instagram has released an update that is only partially available to people. Thus, developers test what the audience will like and what will not. There is only one way out - to write to technical support, more, alas, nothing can be done.

4. What should I do if Instagram becomes stupid after the update?

There are only two options: You can delete and re-download the application, but you need to remember your password for this. Or write to support, but most likely they will advise the same.

Chat color themes, interactive emoji, group message read list and live video recording

Starting today you can install individual color themes for specific private chats , share emotions in real time with interactive emoji , see which group members have read your messages, and record the video stream in broadcasts and video chats.

Chat color themes

In any of your private chats you can now install one of eight themes carefully selected by our designers. Each of the new themes features colorful gradients for message boxes and colorful animated backgrounds with unique themed patterns.

The selected theme is set immediately for both participants in the chat, it will be displayed on all devices .

Each theme has day and night versions. They will switch according to your night mode settings for the entire app, whether you switch to night mode manually or automatically change the theme depending on the time of day.

To set the theme, tap the chat title > More (icon ⋮ on Android, ⋯ on iOS) > Change Colors. Your interlocutor will see the topic if he has the current version of Telegram installed.

These first eight topics are just the beginning. In the next Telegram updates, even more design options will appear.

Interactive emoji

Animated emoji can replace a thousand words - and yet there are times when even a big red heart that beats makes the phone vibrate is not enough.

From today you can click on some animated emoji to launch additional effects in full screen . To do this, send a separate message or and click on the animated version.

If the interlocutor has a chat with you, he will see the effects at the very moment when you click on the emoji. Vibration phone is also synchronized for both interlocutors.

In order for your interlocutor to also see full-screen effects, he must have the current version of Telegram installed.

Emoji set with full screen effects will be updated regularly.

Small group reader list

Individual topics and interactive emoji are only supported in private chats for now, but this update also includes an important innovation for group chats .

Messages in the group are marked as "Read" (✓✓) as soon as at least one member has read them. Now in small groups you can see which of the participants read the message you sent.

To protect privacy, the information about who read the message is only kept for 7 days after it was sent. Telegram will not store information about which messages you have read.

Recording broadcasts and video chats

Telegram has millions of communities, each of which can host video broadcasts without restrictions on the number of viewers. Now administrators can record not only audio, but also video stream from the broadcast, and share the video with subscribers who missed the broadcast.

You can record video with sound or just sound. For video, recording in vertical and horizontal formats is supported.
