Netta "Ricki Lake": watch the clip (VIDEO)

This week can rightly be called the week of premieres. Today we would like to draw your attention to the release of a new video single by the winner of Eurovision 2018, Israeli Netta. The new release is dedicated to food addiction and merciless huckstering. All this is ridiculed in the best traditions of the singer. Watch the video clip and its description in our material.

This week our domestic artists presented clip after clip, song after song: Alyosha & Vlad Darwin, Max Barskikh and KRUTÜ pleased us with new creations. But, the "overseas" singer from Israel especially distinguished herself: Netta released a new video, where she mockingly "revealed" the absurdity of modern food culture.

We remind you that Netta won the Eurovision 2018 thanks to her hit "Toy". After her brilliant debut, the girl gained endless popularity and began to work hard on her career.

The last video was made for the song "Ricki Lake" based on the "Ricki Lake Show" of the same name, which Netta liked to watch as a teenager. It was this TV show that served as inspiration for the new creation of the singer. Here is how the girl herself comments on her new job:

As a teenager, I watched The Ricki Lake Show and was fascinated by all the colorful characters she featured on her show. It was a look at America—both the best and the worst. Like Ricky's guests, we all crave tips, quick fixes, and simple hacks to make us happy and relieve our sadness. A new jacket, a new nose, a happy meal, or cellulite reduction.

Netta notes that "Ricki Lake" is about being happy, listening to your intuition instead of society's rules, and dancing to your own rhythm. Her outrageous, daring and at the same time attractive personality takes center stage in the new song.

In the video single, the singer is depicted in absurd images: lying in a bathtub filled to the brim with pink donuts, and with a headband, where the same donut takes center stage. The girl also starred in a hot pink bathrobe with golden sleeves and a "crown" consisting of used ketchup packages.

Another highlight of the picture is when the girl sings with a bottle in her hands, which is very suspiciously similar to Coca-Cola, and a crown of metal caps flaunts on her head.

The clip turned out to be rather dirty, awkward, absurd and even somewhat unpleasant. Trolling literally "stitched" the whole theme of American food culture, obesity and merciless huckstering.

We agree with the singer that this problem should be raised, but hasn't she gone too far, in your opinion? Enough words - we invite you to "enjoy" this spectacle and draw your own conclusions.

At the moment, the video single of the Israeli Netta has already crossed the mark of 600 million views. Further more!

Richard Bay Bruno - Today with Richard Bay Bruno

Bruno is a direct (pun intended) attack on celebrities and homophobia. It follows the eponymous gay Austrian TV presenter "Sacha Baron Cohen", who sets out to become "the biggest Austrian superstar since Hitler". An exiled fashionista embarks on a global quest to become a celebrity, emulating the headline antics of stars like Angelina Jolie and Madonna in his single-minded pursuit of fame, but he finds more homophobia than fluke during his travels around the world. journey.

Bruno wagered the notorious deck against him. Baron Cohen couldn't recreate the pop culture phenomenon that Borat was, or the sense of discovery and novelty that captivated the general public back in 2006. Too many people right now are just in awe of Cohen's performance and the suspicion that many of his 'unsuspecting' victims are actually part of the joke that never dies down watching Bruno, no matter how funny it is. And because Cohen's entire gimmick is based on being "real," this sense of fabrication undermines the film.

When aspiring stage parents agree to the myriad of increasingly absurd conditions that their babies may find themselves in during a photo shoot, it seems too good (or is it bad?) to be true. The segment of The Richard Bay Show where Bruno shows off his adopted African "gay" to an uptight African-American audience also seems too staged to be believable, not least because Bay has been off the air for ages. Of course, Bey was involved in the joke, but one can strongly suspect that many of the angry onlookers were also plants. The same as the dominatrix at the swingers party.

It's hard to find Bruno to be so outrageous - or even truly outraged, if you so desire - when the movie might not be exactly what you want! it will make you believe. Bruno is much more manipulative and skillful than Borat when Cohen's puppet-stringed hands feel ubiquitous. It doesn't help that the film repeats the same basic plot as Borat's: a ridiculous foreign TV host and his devoted friend leave their homeland, exposing the prejudices of the (unsuspecting) people they encounter along the way. Bruno, however, is a less attractive, public-friendly, and quotable character than Borat; where Borat's wacky good nature was offset by his shocking ignorance and prejudice, Bruno is simply self-absorbed, superficial and campy and therefore less cheerful and attractive.

Despite all his faults, Bruno nevertheless works like a bawdy, merciless comedy. There are plenty of memorable, hilarious scenes, the most notable of which involve "ordinary" people rather than the famous (although Bruno's interviews with the presidential candidate and terrorist leader show just how risky Cohen is willing to take the joke). You'll never again think of mime the same way you did after seeing Bruno communicating with the spirit of a dead artist, or the absurdity of "gay cure" counseling. The film's focus is on attacking, exposing and exploiting people's homophobia, which generates the most laughs, sighs, and anxiety about the film trying to get its cake and eat it when it comes to homophobia.

Bruno is cheerful. It will make you cry with laughter and make even the most open-minded viewer cringe at the most obscene moments. There are times when it's perhaps too much, too over the top and overstretched, but it's funny as hell nonetheless. It would be better and even funnier if it didn't seem so staged.
