Which personality type was Adolf Hitler?

Adolf Hitler was an unhealthy INFJ personality type. He tended to feel resentful of other people and this could have been the driving force behind some of his actions.

A healthy INFJ would enjoy making others happy, but Hitler saw this as a distraction from his vision. He often isolated himself from people entirely.

Hitler took things personally and had an ‘all or nothing’ approach to life. INFJs are passionate individuals and they throw themselves into whatever values they feel strongly about.

When it’s a good cause, this can have many positive effects, but when these ideals are hurtful to others, this can be damaging, as seen with Hitler.

“The man who has no sense of history, is like a man who has no ears or eyes”

What was Adolf Hitler's Personality Type | Personalitopia

Many have claimed Adolf Hitler INFJ - Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Judging personality type. But is he really? Let's talk about Adolf Hitlers personality type.

Adolf Hitlers MBTI has been claimed to be an INFJ in several blogs, including MBTI Fiction, IDRLabs and Personality Database. Today I will show why this is incorrect and why Adolf Hitler is not an INFJ. In order to do so, we will revisit some quotes by Adolf Hitler that manifest his personality and worldview perfectly.

In This Article

“He who would live must fight. He who doesn't wish to fight in this world, where permanent struggle is the law of life, has not the right to exist.”

Adolf Hitler regarded life as a battle rather than as a desire to make peace with life and humanity. This view of life as a battle or conflict is typical for the Thinking Judging type. It is not common for the Feeling Judging type. The goal of the Feeling Judging type is to build bridges. The goal of the Thinking Judging type is to excel in one's goal or ambition. Adolf Hitler's personality type connects strongly to machiavellian traits. These relate to dominion, aggression, and a belief that the strong shall prevail over the weak.

“Humanitarianism is the expression of stupidity and cowardice.”

― Adolf Hitler

INFJs are known to be great lovers of humanity and rarely fall into belittling humans or kindness. The glorification of the strong and the belittling of the weak was a common thread of thought for Adolf Hitler. It is not something I have seen in INFJs. While INFJs can have many negative traits, such as that of enabling neediness. INFJs can be easily manipulated by other people, but INFJs are not generally known to be machiavellian.

“I know that fewer people are won over by the written word than by the spoken word and that every great movement on this earth owes its growth to great speakers and not to great writers.”

― Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

It looks here like Hitler is more concerned with present reality and history. Hitler was less concerned with the future and he builds his observations on what has been the case rather than what will be the case. INFJs seek to plot an original route forward and tend to reject traditional paths. Adolf Hitlers MBTI is definitely Sensing.

"It’s a matter of indifference to me what a weak western European civilization will say about me.
I have issued the command—and I’ll have anybody who utters but one word of criticism executed by a firing squad"

INFJs care about how they are regarded by other people, inevitably so. Most INFJs are sensitive to criticism. And while you can say that Hitler is too, INFJs rarely respond with direct aggression when given criticism. It is more likely that they will choose to retreat from a negative situation to lick their wounds and to process the situation. The INFJ strategy is far more passive. This is also why ghosting is such a thing for INFJs. INFJs tend to retreat when a situation goes hostile. Learn more in this video.

"He who does not possess the force to secure his Lebensraum in this world, and, if necessary, to enlarge it, does not deserve to possess the necessities of life.
He must step aside and allow stronger peoples to pass him by.”

INFJs do not think about life in hierarchical terms of who does better and who does worse. More often, they will seek out those who struggle and take the role of guides and support figures. A more negative INFJ trait is that INFJs want to be needed by other people. INFJs may encourage weakness and a sense of victimhood in other people.

"My generals should be like bull terriers on chains, and they should want war, war, war ..."

INFJs do not show high initiative and tend to take a more cautious, strategic role in discussions. Rather than dominate through speed and force, the INFJ will seek to more softly pull on the strings of other people to get what they want. The communication style of the INFJ is generally indirect and relying more on soft methods of persuasion. Adolf Hitlers MBTI is definitely Thinking.

"German youth, do not forget that you are a German," and "Remember, little girl, that one day you must be a German mother.

INFJs like most intuitives, tend to reject their history and their roots in favour of creating their own identity. I see INFJs as people that often have unique forms of self-expression and identity. INFJs may show a loyalty to other people and to their tribe and the people around them. They can axle the role of a leader or support figure for other people, but they often feel that they don't really fit in - and that it's all just an act. This is different from Adolf Hitlers personality type because Hitler was able to consistently wield a persona with confidence and without any self-doubt.

“When people attempt to rebel against the iron logic of Nature, they come into conflict with the very same principles to which they owe their existence as human beings. Their actions against Nature must lead to their own downfall.”

Introverted iNtuitives, due to their inferior Extroverted Sensing represent a battle against Nature. Often, they spend their life trying to take control over. They will either directly oppose natural order, or seek to at least redirect it. Knowledge of the future and what will be leads to a natural desire to want to reimagine the world in a different way. The desire to change the world and to transcend nature is a key INFJ theme. Adolf Hitler INFJ? He seemed very pragmatic and results oriented. I just don't see it.

“The man who has lost his instincts and does not recognise the obligation Nature has given him cannot hope for any corrective action on Nature’s part until he restores his lost instincts by clear intellectual awareness. "

The average INFJ wants to stand above natural human instincts, like jealousy, greed, or natural human urges. I see a natural movement in INFJs and INTJs to try to overcome negative human instincts and to try to stand above it. It's also more than common for these types to intellectualise bodily sensations. I also see a strong sense of determinism in Adolf Hitlers reasoning in which the world follows an unchangeable, natural law and we must follow this law.

So is Adolf Hitler INFJ? I would say no. Based on these insights, I would argue that Adolf Hitlers personality type is NOT an INFJ.

Adolf Hitler sought to become a person remembered and written about in the history books, but he did not care about whether he was written of fondly or not. I believe in his eyes, might makes right, and the only thing that mattered to him was if he would be victorious or not.

Ultimately, if I would give him a personality type, I would say ENTJ, INTJ or ISTJ makes more sense. The Extroverted Judging types tend to show more initiative and a more direct approach. They value speed and action. ENTJs see life as a battle and are less sensitive to conflict. They show stronger Sensation than INFJs, but are still fairly iNtuitive. However, there should be no doubt that Adolf Hitler is an unusually unhealthy ENTJ.

Secrets of the personality of Adolf Hitler. Fascism comes from childhood

Adolf Hitler. In the twentieth century, this name became synonymous with cruelty and inhumanity - people who experienced the horrors of concentration camps, saw the war with their own eyes, know who they are talking about. But history is gradually fading into the past, and already now there are those who consider him their hero, create for him the halo of a "romantic" freedom fighter. It would seem - how can the winners of fascism take the side of the vanquished? However, among the descendants of those who fought Hitler and died from his army, there are those who today, April 20, celebrate the Fuhrer's birthday as their holiday.

On the eve of the 60th anniversary of the great victory, in 2005, some documents were found and published that explored and told about the personality of Adolf Hitler, diaries and memoirs of people around him - a few strokes to the portrait of the dictator.

People should not know who I am and what family I am from!

A diary of Hitler's sister Paula was found in Germany. Describing the earliest memories of her childhood, when she was about eight and Adolf 15 years old, Paula writes: "I again feel the heavy hand of my brother on my face." New information about Paula herself has also emerged - initially she was considered only an innocent victim, but as it turned out, the Fuhrer's sister was engaged to one of the most sinister euthanasia doctors of the Holocaust. The researchers came to the Russian protocols of interrogations, from which it follows that Paula Hitler was engaged to Erwin Jaeckelius, responsible for the murder of 4,000 people in a gas chamber during the war years. The wedding did not happen only because Adolf forbade it, and after a while, Yekelius was actually surrendered to the Russian army.

Historians have also discovered memoirs written jointly by Hitler's half-brother Alois and half-sister Angela. One of the passages describes the cruelty of Hitler's father, also named Alois, and how Adolf's mother tried to protect her son from constant beatings: "In fear, seeing that the father could no longer restrain his unbridled anger, she decided to end these tortures. She rises to the attic and covers Adolf with her body, but cannot dodge another blow from her father. She silently endures it.

The historian Bayerl writes about this: "We are presented with a picture of a completely dysfunctional family that the public has never seen before." According to him, "the horrors of the Third Reich grew up in Hitler's own house."

In addition, from documents declassified in 2005, it became known that Hitler personally ordered the destruction of one of his relatives, the great-niece of Aloisia. The reason was simple - she suffered from schizophrenia, and the Third Reich believed that people with such a disease had no right to life. December 6 1940 years Aloysia is killed in the gas chamber at the Hartheim camp in Upper Austria.

The Fuhrer also demanded proof from his compatriots that they were true Aryans and the presentation of pedigrees confirming the "purity of blood." At the same time, he himself did not present anything. This raised a lot of questions, however, not unfounded.

From the very beginning of his political career, Adolf proved that he was a true Aryan and tried to suppress all sorts of rumors about his origin, which appeared very often. In the 1920s, a leaflet was circulated in the Nazi party organizations, in which he was accused of trying to "Jewishly" destroy the party. Later, journalists in the Moravian city of Polna found Jews named Hitler, and the newspaper "Ostereichishe Abendblatt" in June 1933 years published with the title "Sensational footprints of the Jews of the Hitlers in Vienna" and printed photographs of the tombstones of the "Gütlers" in the Jewish cemetery in the Austrian capital. Looks like he had something to hide. There is evidence that in the early 1930s, the Fuhrer's nephew William Patrick Hitler, who was living in England, suddenly began to give interviews to the local press about his uncle. Enraged, Adolf called him to Berlin and made a scandal. "You idiots," he yelled. "You will drive me to my grave! With what care I hid my person and my personal affairs from the press! People should not know who I am and what family I am from!"

In his desire to hide his origins, Hitler went too far - in 1936 he signed a secret order for the massacre of the mentally ill and people suffering from physical ailments. But, no matter how hard he tried, some documents survived: in early 1944, Heinrich Himmler sent papers marked "Top Secret" to the Fuhrer's office personally to Martin Bormann. They contained information that could put an end to the myth of the great "Führer of a healthy German nation." The secret document contained rumors about Hitler's relatives, "who were semi-idiots and crazy," Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

    25 tablets a day + injections = ideal dictator

It is well known that Hitler took great care of his health. His personal doctor was Professor Morel, a well-known Berlin venereologist, one of the few people whom the dictator trusted. According to eyewitnesses, Morel had an almost hypnotic influence on the Fuhrer and his patient was extremely pleased with the work of the life physician.

There is evidence that Hitler took over 25 different pills a day. Morel constantly gave him painkillers and tonic injections, first as needed, then for prophylaxis, and after a while the injections became an obligatory part of life.

The Führer, preoccupied with his appearance, constantly took diet pills, which were invariably followed by opium.
"Caring" for health has become a true mania - even the vegetables that Hitler ate were grown on special plots of land. It was fumigated to free it from bacteria, fertilized with extra pure manure from extra clean animals. Everything was carefully checked - the dictator was afraid that he might be poisoned.

Examining all these "precautions", post-war doctors came to the conclusion that Hitler's body aged four to five years in a year.

It is likely that new facts about Adolf's biography will soon appear.
