The A&E docuseries Hoarders explores the lives of people across America who struggle with extreme hoarding disorder. Living in often dangerous and unsanitary conditions, the individuals on the show are followed by cameras while they get help from a team of experts who attempt not only to help them clean up their home, but also connect them with the psychological help they need to succeed.

Is 'Hoarders' staged? Docuseries psychologist speaks on the reality of the show.
"I can unequivocally tell you that nothing is staged," Dr. Zasio told Distractify (via phone). In fact, the psychologist explained that when she arrives at a client's home, she has not yet been inside. Therefore, the cameras are capturing a very genuine reaction.
"It’s all natural. It’s unscripted and it’s exactly as individuals see it," Dr. Zasio added. "I think the reason why this question is so incredibly important is because what the viewers are seeing is the reality of other people in our society who are struggling at that very level and they’re living at that very level of hoarding. The conditions can be unsanitary and unsafe and even deadly in certain circumstances..."

According to the psychologist, the show is attempting to educate viewers who may not have access to certain resources.
"If you look back [to] when the show started, we didn’t really see or know much about hoarding disorder because people lived in silence; they were isolated. They were scared. They were shameful. They were fearful of what was going to happen if someone came into their home," Dr. Zasio explained, adding, "Hoarding disorder is something that is becoming more prominent and pronounced in the community, which I firmly believe is because of the Hoarders show. What happens to patients after the 'Hoarders' team leaves?
According to Dr. Zasio, extreme hoarding behavior "is usually a symptom of something else going on." The clinical psychologist explained that "depression" is frequently present in a person struggling with hoarding disorder.
Additionally, Dr. Zasio explained that treating someone with this behavior is "very individualized" and other ongoing issues need to be addressed to understand "why [a patient is] having difficulty accumulating and letting go."
When attempting to treat a patient, Dr. Zasio explained that she initially researches the area and looks for other professionals who are trained in hoarding behaviors.

"From the very beginning when I’m assigned to work with someone, I am already researching the area and looking for resources," she told Distractify. Then, after the A&E crew leaves, patients are able to get help from a trained specialist to continue with their treatment and follow-up care. Dr. Zasio concluded, "This is not about a clean-up, this is much deeper."
New episodes of Hoarders air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on A&E.

The esportsman went to work as a storekeeper, and after a couple of months he began to train staff in the marketplace division
Komsomolskaya Pravda
is not going to stop
Maxim Avdonin
Maxim Avdonin 25 years old. Studied in college for banking. Worked in sales and retail. At the same time, he received a “tower” in the specialty “pedagogy”. In his spare time, Max manages an esports team and plays by himself.
It was November 2020. At the end of the year, the incidence of covid began to grow, business hid in suspense. Maxim needed a new job.
- I'm from Bronnitsy near Moscow. Friends told me about the vacancy for a storekeeper at the new Yandex.Market warehouse in Sofyino. I read about them on Headhunter, I liked the conditions. They arrange it according to shopping mall, there are gifts for the holidays, bonuses. In addition, it is clear that the future belongs to marketplaces, these are prospects, - says a young man .
2300 BOXES PER SHIFT
Maxim takes to the warehouse. The giant complex resembles a clean factory. Usually warehouses are dirty, but if local employees were given white coats and slippers instead of overalls, it would look organic.
Conveyors, boxes, computers, racks and carts with goods. Here Maxim worked two through two on shifts of 12 hours.
— The tasks of a storekeeper depend on the area where you work: receiving, shipping, packing goods. I was first put on the shipment. The boxes are not heavy: they contain products, manufactured goods, light household appliances. I prepared them for transfer to transport companies that will take the goods to customers. If I sorted 1720 boxes per shift, I fulfilled the standard. For this, motivation is supposed - a bonus. Somehow managed to sort 2300 boxes, - is divided by Maxim .
Storekeeper is a job for all ages. There are first-year students and people under 50 years old. There are two large Yandex.Market warehouse complexes in Sofyino. There is a similar one in Tomilino. People come here from all the surrounding cities of the Moscow region - employees are provided with a free transfer to the place of work.
Maxim proudly says that the warehouse is constantly growing. He cites his former sorting site as an example. Eight months ago, 25 people worked there, now there are 40. And this is not the limit - many new vacancies have been opened.
— New logistics and sorting centers appear, which means that new employees are constantly being recruited. Including those already working. I was essentially at the lower level - a storekeeper, and moved to an office position - a training specialist. Now I want to become a leading specialist in my department, and in the future I want to head the training department.
STORAGE WORKERS' BONUS AS MANAGERS' SALARY
We are moving from warehouses to offices. Everything here is like in a classic big company: they click with mice, the buzz of a coffee machine comes from the kitchen. At the computers, surrounded by lush ficuses, guys and girls.
- When I first came to study, I liked the work of those who conducted the training for beginners, - recalls Avdonin . - I studied to be a teacher, this is mine. There was a goal, to get into the training department. After a couple of months in the warehouse, employees were announced: a vacancy for a training specialist was open. 120 people entered the competition. There were tests for logic, an interview, it was necessary to prepare a speech. In the end, they took me.
— While the selection was going on, did you continue to work as a storekeeper?
Yes.
— Probably not easy to work two days for 12 hours, and then still participate in the competition for the position?
— Of course, there were hard days. After all, the work of a storekeeper is monotonous. The thought always helps out: you do for people. Someone will receive their goods and rejoice. In a sense, the guys in the warehouse have a social mission.
— You got the position of training specialist, but you still visit the warehouse. It's only been a couple of months, has anything changed?
— The company aims to make the work of employees easier by introducing automation. We built a conveyor, part of the sorting of goods is carried out by a machine. But this does not make the work less: there are more and more orders and new people are needed.
— What are you doing now?
— I tell you how the company works, how to work in specific areas. In four months, he spoke to more than 2,000 employees. I was taught how to properly conduct training, direct the audience. This science even has a name - andragogy. Adult education. Adults perceive information not like children: they are interested in gaining knowledge, but they also have more thoughts in their heads. Therefore, it is important to correctly present information so that it is assimilated.
— What did the new job give you?
- The salary rate has almost doubled. There are more serious bonuses here, but happiness is not in money, is it? I have new experience, more knowledge about the company and a desire to develop.
— So, can you tell me more about money? Storekeepers probably get very little?
- You can make money here and it's pretty good. Recently, they increased the rate and motivation - the bonus for meeting the standards - for storekeepers. It can be compared with the manager's salary.
— If you had no higher education, do you think you would have been hired for an office position?
— Education is important, but everything is not limited to it. If there is a prospect of promotion and this requires a diploma, the company lets you go on vacation for the duration of the session and the educational process.
— How is the situation in the team?
- Everyone works as one team. A lot of interesting guys, new acquaintances, points of intersection of interests.
— Who would you advise to try themselves in Yandex.Market projects?
— If you want to earn money and are ready to climb the career ladder, this is your choice. I like in the Market that they notice how you work, whether you strive for a higher level.

Adequate management, friendly staff. A high level of freedom in the choice of activities, transfer between specialties is a matter of a couple of days.

The location may be inconvenient for some. For me, it was one of the key factors behind. On the line, in order to earn normally, you need to run very fast and not make mistakes at all.
